Patience is a virtue. Sabr ka phal meetha hota hai...ok boss.hole hole movie boring ho jati hai. You are bound to get impatient.
The movie begins with a bang. Unconventional shaadi pehle conflict baad mein type ke movies is not what you expect from a Yash Raj banner. But Adi does justice to the beginning and the ending of the movie and the Indian audience totally buys the concept of all's well that ends well.
The story is about how destiny helps bring two unmatched people together against the backdrop of a dance competition. Mr. seedha saadha Suri does a good job of bholeram to win over our damsel Anushka better known as Taani Madam. What I could not understand was how in the world could Suri transform himself into a completely annoying sadak chaap flirtatious romeo with cheap one liners at the tip of his tongue whenever he wanted to. For most part of the movie I was convinced he suffered from multiple personality disorder. Vinay Pathak did a swell job as Suri's chaddi buddy. Sharukh's transformation brought a riot of colours on the silver screen...courtesy insanely colour coordinated clothes which would put any bad dresser to shame. The debutant damsel was a surprise package with the mast punjabi tadka looks and all the right moves. It is a nice Christmas movie when you want to believe that love is blind and magic will surround you and you know that "the happily ever after" moment is just about the corner :)

versatile writer with a good mix of wit, creativity and content. Indeed a movie that can be barely seen once by me that too if dragged into watching it, rather wud have gone for Madagascar 2 which was more of my type

the movie is an entertainer and thats that. If you dont look to much into the rules of creating a character, realism etc etc u are going to enjoy it. Some people might argue tht the girl was stupid not to have recognised him without a moustache. Double standards - especialy if u have liked superman!
themovie is not a typical raj/johar/chopra movie with tears etc, but it's executed beautifully in the second half after an entertaining first half. Which other movie tells u abt the feeling that a guy gets when heknows for sure that his wife is going to elope that night but she still touches his feet for blessings?
U know the movie has worked when u know it is predictable and yet u wait for i happen.
ah well anantha..just to be an out n out entertainer you dont need to squeeze out logic from it...i thought about it and realized that maybe it is actually double standards when we can accept mrs doubtfire n other "hollywood" concepts...but then again he was a voice artist...logic...u talked about superman.Why is Superman unrecognizable as Clark Kent when he only wears glasses for disguise?It is a whole change in character... not just the glasses.
In the movies it is hard to show that posture and the way you carry yourself dramatically change how people percieve you....
well in an entertainer you can take that sorta "creative liberty".in the blog i was only pinpointing as to how can can somebody have completely contradictory characteristic traits unless he suffers from a psychological problem.pardon me but mr superman can be excused on the grounds of being a superhero. self explanatory argument as to how he "behaved" n not how he "looked".
and just in case you want to make an entertainer(i know u r into makin movies n stuff)you DO have to look into the rules of creating a character.

ha ha i know robin was a voice artist and hence he doesnt fit into this argument.
and abt superman being overlooked just coz he was a superhero infact contradicts your own statement. May be the filmmaker in Rab ne just wanted to tell u that the protagonist in here wasnt after all any guy you would find on the road. May be the extreme amount of love he has for his wife here is the ACTUAL superhero factor that compels him to take such a drastic step and pull off what other normal people might find as a personality disorder.
and abt the creating a chracter issue, even a dumb short film does require that. But i just said that here when the filmmaker is laying emphasis on making an entertainer that has a "message" about love, it doesnt require any head breaking about the characteristics of the hero or for the fact anyone in the movie. An entertainer may not follow logic or realism and hence the protagonists can pull off things that someone may not be able to do off screen.
